Troyen A. Brennan, M.D., M.P.H, is Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of CVS Health Corporation. Prior to joining CVS Health Corporation, Dr. Brennan was Chief Medical Officer of Aetna Inc. From 2000 to 2005, Dr. Brennan served as President and CEO of Brigham and Women's Physician's Organization. In his academic work, he was Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Professor of Law and Public Health at Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Brennan received his M.D. and M.P.H. degrees from Yale Medical School and his J.D. degree from Yale Law School. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences.

Josh Flum is the Executive Vice President, Enterprise Strategy and Digital for CVS Health. In this role he is responsible for accelerating CVS Health’s growth through long-term strategic and market development initiatives, partnerships, investments, acquisitions and world-class digital experiences. In addition, he drives organizational alignment on the positioning of CVS Health in the changing health care marketplace and in identifying new market opportunities and business models to further innovation and long-term growth.

Previously, Flum served as CVS Health’s Executive Vice President of Pharmacy Services, focused on growing CVS Health’s retail pharmacy business through the development and implementation of innovative programs and initiatives. He led the pharmacy operations, pharmacy professional services and payer relations functions that support the company’s more than 9,600 retail pharmacies. In addition, he oversaw CVS Health’s Enterprise Product Innovation and Development team and the Enterprise pharmacy growth team.

Flum joined the company in 2004. Prior roles at CVS Health include leadership positions in Pharmacy Operations and Pharmacy Technology. He has led several initiatives focused on improving pharmacy workflow, productivity and quality, which have significantly enhanced pharmacy services at CVS Pharmacy. Flum also led the cross-functional team responsible for the design and launch of the company’s ground-breaking Pharmacy Advisor program.

Flum is a graduate of the Yale Law School and spent the first years of his professional career clerking for the Honorable Edward R. Becker on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and then as an associate with the law firm Miller, Cassidy, Larroca and Lewin, LLP. He then joined the Boston Consulting Group where his work focused on the consumer and retail practice area.

Flum earned his bachelor’s degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Tufts University and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.

Rick Jelinek is Executive Vice President of Integration for CVS Health. Jelinek is responsible for leading the integration efforts related to the CVS Health and Aetna transaction. His primary focus is working across the newly created enterprise to achieve deal goals, helping to drive profitable growth and participating in transforming the health care experience for consumers. Previously, Jelinek was Executive Vice President of Enterprise Strategy at Aetna where he was responsible for leading critical enterprise and customer and business initiatives that advanced Aetna’s strategy. Jelinek was also the Head of Markets at Aetna, where he connected all product and health service strategies at the local market level and oversaw the company’s national network organization. Jelinek is a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the senior governing body of the company.

Jelinek has broad healthcare experience, serving in senior roles with payors and providers. He also spent time at Advent International on the private equity side of the industry. Jelinek was at United Health for 19 years, serving in a variety of executive leadership roles including CEO of OptumHealth.

Jelinek is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and a founding advisory board member for the Griffith Leadership Center at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. He currently is a member of the board of directors of HealthEdge and previously served on the board of directors of Redbrick Health, Sutter Health, the Minnesota Children’s Museum and Cotiviti.

Jelinek holds a master’s degree in health services administration and an MBA from the University of Michigan, as well as a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California.

Alan Lotvin is Executive Vice President of CVS Health and President of CVS Caremark, the company’s pharmacy benefit management (PBM) business. In this role, Lotvin oversees all aspects of the PBM business, including sales and account management, operations, mail service pharmacy and specialty pharmacy. Lotvin also drives PBM strategy, new business development and client relationship management and retention.

Dr. Lotvin has extensive experience in the PBM and specialty pharmacy industries. Prior to his current role, he served as Executive Vice President – Transformation for CVS Health, and as Executive Vice President of CVS Specialty, the specialty pharmacy business of CVS Health. Before joining the company, Dr. Lotvin was President and Chief Executive Officer of ICORE Healthcare, a Magellan Health Services company, and prior to that, Dr. Lotvin held multiple roles at Medco Health Solutions, including President of Medco Specialty Pharmacy Services and Senior Vice President of Manufacturer Contracting.

Dr. Lotvin began his career as a practicing cardiologist in New Jersey. He holds a master's degree in medical informatics from Columbia University and a medical degree from the State University of New York Health Sciences Center in Brooklyn. Dr. Lotvin also a coholder of U.S. Patent #6,269,819, Method and Apparatus for Circulatory Valve Repair.

Karen S. Lynch is Executive Vice President of CVS Health and President of the Aetna Business Unit. She is responsible for driving the CVS Health strategy to deliver consumer-focused, high-value healthcare to the nearly 45 million people that the Aetna Business Unit serves.

Lynch has nearly three decades of experience in the health care industry. Prior to joining CVS Health, she served as President of Aetna overseeing the company’s Government and Commercial businesses. She also held executive positions at Magellan Health Services and Cigna. Lynch began her career with Ernst & Young as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

For the last three years (2016 – 2018), Lynch was named to Fortune’s list of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Business for her leadership and contributions to improving the health care system. She was also recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the 2017 Top 25 Women in Healthcare, highlighting her role in transforming health care delivery across the country.

Lynch serves as a director of U.S. Bancorp, a trustee of The Bushnell Performing Arts Center, and is a member of the Global 50 and the Boston College Women’s Council. She is a board member of the Aetna Foundation and an advisory board member of IBM Watson Health. She is a past advisory board member of both NEADS/Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans and the Boston office of Ernst & Young. Lynch served for three consecutive years as Honorary Chair of the Komen Connecticut Race for the Cure.

Lynch has been recognized for her leadership by numerous organizations and publications, including the National Association for Specialty Health Organizations, Business Insurance, the Stevie® Awards for Women in Business, and Insurance Networking News. She has also co-chaired the Health Care and Pharmaceutical Task Force for the Wall Street Journal Women in the Economy Conference.

Lynch earned her bachelor's degree in accounting from Boston College and an MBA from Boston University. In 2015, she was presented with an honorary doctorate degree of humane letters from Becker College in Worcester, MA.

Jonathan Mayhew is Executive Vice President of Transformation at CVS Health. In this role, Mayhew has oversight of the portfolio of business transformation initiatives across the enterprise with a focus on identifying opportunities for growth and innovation to create new health care experiences that are easier to use, less expensive and put consumers at the center of their care.

A demonstrated leader with diverse health care experience, Mayhew most recently served as the senior vice president for the Aetna Markets organization, where he played a key role in shaping CVS Health’s integrated value story while leading the multi-billion-dollar business to deliver innovative, customer-focused benefits solutions to 17 million medical members in local markets across the country.

Prior to joining Aetna, Mayhew was a founding principal, CEO and president of Freedom Disability, where he successfully raised capital while building a high-performing, metrics-driven culture, expanding sales and growing the business into one of the largest disability advocacy firms in the country. Mayhew also held senior leadership roles at Cigna, where he served as senior vice president of Product, Marketing and Strategy for the enterprise and president of the Northeast Region.

Jim Clark is Senior Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer for CVS Health. In this position, he is responsible for accounting and financial reporting, aviation, and procurement. Previously, Clark served as Vice President of Finance and Accounting for CVS Health for more than nine years.

Before joining CVS Health, Clark spent 22 years in public accounting working in the San Francisco, Stockholm, and Boston audit practices of Deloitte & Touche LLP, including eight years as an audit partner.

A certified public accountant, Clark graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Valerie Haertel serves as Senior Vice President of Investor Relations of CVS Health. Haertel joined in July, 2019 to lead the execution of a proactive investor relations program to ensure that CVS Health is strategically positioned with analysts, investors and other stakeholders. Haertel has more than 20 years of experience as a leading investor relations and corporate communications professional and has been a collaborative, trusted advisor to senior management teams and boards in banking, financial services, healthcare services and telecommunications services.

Prior to joining CVS Health, Haertel led Investor Relations for Teladoc Health, the largest global telehealth company. Haertel also led global Investor Relations teams at BNY Mellon, State Street Corporation, Medco Health Solutions and AllianceBernstein. Previously, Haertel led Investor Relations and Corporate Communications for bundled telecommunications provider, RCN Corporation, and held positions at Georgeson & Company and The Nasdaq Stock Market in customer-facing leadership roles.

Haertel is a past chair of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) having served a five-year Board term which ended in 2018 and is an inaugural NIRI Investor Relations Charter (IRC) holder. Haertel is a member of the NIRI Senior Roundtable, Women in Capital Markets and the National Association of Corporate Directors. Haertel has earned several industry recognitions from IR Magazine, Institutional Investor Magazine and Greenwich Associates for her work as one of the nation’s top IR professionals.
